Location: Oakland, California
Size: 4,500 Square Foot Traveling Exhibition
Scope: Exhibit Design and Graphic Design
Dragon Skies was a major, NSF-funded traveling exhibit of beautiful antique astronomical instruments never before seen outside of China. To engage children and families, Gyroscope created an immersive and interactive environment where visitors become astronomers-in-training, learning to use replicas of the actual artifacts adjacent to the artifacts. Visitors make their own star maps, tell time with a water clock, and learn how the Royal Astronomer used knowledge of the heavens to consolidate the Emperor’s power. The exhibit toured to eight sites across the United States.
