Unique Solutions for Unique Institutions
Gyroscope understands that every museum is unique, with its own particular strengths and resources. As a result, there are no cookie cutter solutions to planning new visitor experiences. The best projects are ones in which the museum and its consultants challenge one another, each bringing their own experience and knowledge, combined in novel ways to seek the unique solution that will work best for you. We will design exhibits with you, not for you.
As the diagram suggests, creating great visitor experiences requires considering four intersecting factors:
- The mission. What are the project’s goals?
- The audience. Who will come? What will attract them? What are their interests, attitudes, level of sophistication, expectations?
- The state of the art. What are the trends in freechoice learning? What works? What impact will emerging technologies have?
- Regional resources. What strengths can we draw on that will set National Children’s Museum apart? Among the resources that must be taken into account are the board and supporters, staff and site.
