Principal’s bios

Justine Roberts is a Principal with Gyroscope and heads up the firm’s East Coast office. She combines first-hand understanding of interactive museums with extensive experience into family learning environments and activities. As a Planner and Project Manager Justine has led complex creative teams for clients including the Austin Children’s Museum, the Chicago Children’s Museum, the Oslo Barnemuseum and Exploration Station in Dublin, Ireland. Justine was lead planner and project manager for Skyline, an NSF funded exhibit at the Chicago Children’s Museum.

Among the research studies Justine has led are benchmarking studies conducted to help clients analyze leadership opportunities for their institutions. Specifically, Justine was the project manager for the Standards of Excellence: A Model for the Chicago Children’s Museum report on promising practices in early childhood and the implications for museums, published by ACM. Currently she is working on a survey, in collaboration with JFK University, on emerging trends in family museums.

Justine began her career at the Bay Area Discovery Museum where she served both as a Floor Staff Manager and Project Manager in the Exhibit Department. Her experience in bridging Education and Exhibits continues to shape how Justine approaches the visitor experience today. She holds an M.Ed from the Bank Street School of Education. She has also produced educational technology products for LeapFrog and Scholastic Interactive.
